Mets get catcher Perez from Pirates, 2nd trade between teams
The New York Mets acquired catcher Michael Perez from Pittsburgh for cash on Saturday, the second day in a row the NL East leaders made a trade with the Pirates. The 29-year-old Perez was designated for assignment on Friday. In parts of five seasons with the Pirates and Tampa Bay, he is hitting .175 with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs.

They will be extradited to face charges in Philadelphia and will not be given bail. Three people died overall in the shooting on South Street, and several other people were injured. South Street, on the south edge of central Philadelphia, is known for nightlife that includes bars, restaurants and other businesses.
