foxnews.comCourt upholds Minnesota 'Clean Car Rule' tied to California
ST. PAUL, Minn. — (AP) — The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Monday upheld the state's "Clean Car Rule," which ties the state's vehicle emission standards to California regulations, as judges accepted assurances that California's planned phaseout of gasoline-powered cars won't automatically apply in Minnesota. The appeals court concluded that the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency acted within its statutory authority and that the state's rule is therefore valid. It takes effect in the 2025 model year and is meant to increase the supply and selection of electric vehicles. While manufacturers are ramping up production, the group contends that the rule could still saddle dealers with more electric vehicles than consumers want to buy. Under the federal Clean Air Act, states generally must follow California's standards or default to the the federal standards.

The White House is trying to replace that sense of emptiness with outrage and resolve this weekend by demonstrating determination to restore abortion rights even though there's little chance of progress in Washington. Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster who has worked with Biden, said the White House strategy on abortion had three goals. Across states, the fight to protect abortion access is playing out in courtrooms, with active litigation against abortion restrictions in 14 states, according to an analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation. It's unclear which legal arguments may be most successful, with the states’ highest courts ultimately deciding how accessible abortion.

wftv.comD'Angelo Russell, no stranger to trades, once again finds himself in fluid situation
The Timberolves explored the offseason trade market of point guards, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and particularly Dejounte Murray. A 2019 sign-and-trade first delivered Russell to the Warriors from the Nets, following a 2018 deal that shipped Russell from the Los Angeles Lakers to Brooklyn. Word among league personnel of the Wolves’ openness to moving Russell has only persisted since this summer’s Murray flirtations. But if Russell were to walk on the open market, Minnesota would not inherit his $31.3 million salary in open cap space. “You either take advantage of me and my ability, or f*** up the opportunity with me,” Russell told Yahoo Sports in December.
wftv.comThe Vikings' 13-4 record was an historic anomaly. Will their luck run out in the playoffs?
The Minnesota Vikings team on the standings page doesn't seem to connect to the team on the stats page. Pythagorean expected wins, which estimates a team’s record based on point differential, gave the Vikings 8.4 wins. Just in the past three seasons, 11 teams with better point differentials than the Vikings have missed the playoffs entirely … a group that includes the 2021 Vikings. There's no point in trying to explain the Vikings' season thus far, but their journey isn't over. Now, the Vikings are a historic outlier among teams that won 12 or more games, but middling teams make the playoffs pretty routinely.
wftv.comNFL betting: Here are two totals to target in what could be an ugly Week 18
Two of the most significant swaps at quarterback were with the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears. My approach was to zero in on the team totals market for both games, but I attacked them from different angles. Washington Commanders Team Total Over 16.5 (-110)Sam Howell gets a chance to prove he is the long-term solution, and a QB playing with house money is dangerous. There really isn't a Chicago offense without Justin Fields. So what's the impact of a highly ineffective Bears offense?
