An Afghan woman accused of supporting an Islamic State-inspired attack in the U.S. on Election Day in 2024 is the first person facing deportation through the Trump administration’s use of an obscure court that remained dormant for 30 years.

The FBI has arrested an Afghan man who officials say was inspired by the Islamic State militant organization and was plotting an Election Day attack targeting large crowds in the U.S. That's according to a Justice Department announcement Tuesday.
