According to the Gun Violence Archive, a non-profit that tracks incidents of gun violence nationwide, 357 mass shootings were reported between Jan. 1 and Wednesday. Benatar told USA Today that her decision not to sing “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” was her “small contribution to protesting.”Benatar and her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo, are set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November alongside artists including Dolly Parton, Eminem, Lionel Richie and Carly Simon.
