The administration of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is moving to forbid classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in all grades.

The Florida State Board of Education held a meeting Wednesday in Orlando to discuss new rules in Florida schools, including several prompted by the Parental Rights in Education law passed earlier this year.

A lawsuit filed in federal court on behalf of students, parents and advocates for the LGBTQ community is seeking to have a judge declare Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law unconstitutional.
