Apopka Middle School on lockdown after reports of student with weapon on campus, police sayAPOPKA, Fla. — Police in Apopka said a middle school was placed on a hold Friday afternoon after reports of a student with a weapon on campus. Officers said they were called to Apopka Memorial Middle School after reports of the possibly armed student. Orange County Public Schools released a statement saying the school was placed on a “secure and hold” and not on a lockdown. School officials said the secure and hold status at Apopka Middle School has recently been lifted. Channel 9 has a crew headed to the middle school and will provide update on Eyewitness News.
