Orange County's next superintendent greeted students at several campuses during her first back to school tour since being chosen as the district's next leader.

The street where the school sits will officially be renamed Roberto Clemente Road during a ceremony Wednesday.

Orange County public schools partnered with the health department to offer free COVID-19 vaccines to students, their families, and the community on Saturday at three area middle schools.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Municipal Planning Board voted unanimously to change the name of Stonewall Jackson Road to “Roberto Clemente Road.”The road is located between Semoran Boulevard and Gelwood Avenue in the Engelwood community. Father Jose Rodriguez, with Jesus de Nazaret Episcopal Church, grew up in the area and went to Roberto Clemente Middle School, which was formally known as Stonewall Jackson Middle. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – After months of debate about renaming Stonewall Jackson Middle School, the Orange County School Board voted to rename the school named after a confederate general during Tuesday night’s school board meeting. “I’m pleased to offer a motion to rename Stonewall Jackson Middle school to become Roberto Clemente Middle School,” School board member Johanna Lopez said. The board unanimously voted to rename the school Roberto Clemente Middle. Diversity Middle School and Seminole Creek Middle School were the two others that were on the table. “I’m so happy to tell my son that he can probably go to Roberto Clemente Middle School now,” a parent said.
