An 18-year-old Florida Tech student from Georgia was shot and killed when he lunged at Melbourne police and campus security Friday night after assaulting people with a knife in a residency hall on the university’s campus, officials said.

A Florida Tech student attacked other students on campus with a knife before being fatally shot by officers Friday night, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
