Jeff Shell, the chief executive of NBCUniversal, is departing the company after an investigation into inappropriate conduct, parent company Comcast announced Sunday.

NEW YORK NBCUniversal Vice Chairman Ron Meyer, a Hollywood power player, is leaving the entertainment company after revealing he received threats of extortion following a settlement with a woman with whom he had an affair. Jeff Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, said in a statement Tuesday that Meyer acted in a manner which we believe is not consistent with our company policies or values." NBC declined to elaborate. He said other people, whom he also did not name, tried to extort him after they learned of the settlement. He co-founded Creative Artists Agency, a top Hollywood talent agency, in 1975.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. A grassroots lawsuit filed by an Orange County teacher and another concerned mom has now been consolidated with the states largest teachers union, The Florida Education Association, in the battle to stop brick-and-mortar schools from reopening as ordered by Education Commissioner Richard Corcorans emergency order. Jacob Stuart, Jr. and Billy Wieland are both attorneys representing Southwest Middle School teacher Kathryn Hammond and concerned mom and nurse Monique Bellefleur. They, along with the FEA, have filed for an emergency injunction that would prevent schools from physically reopening while case continues on in court. "The injunctive relief would mean the judge would enter an order prohibiting all schools in the State of Florida from opening," Stuart said.
