Huntley's fumble ends Ravens' season with Jackson back home
CINCINNATI — (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens' season ended with Lamar Jackson not in uniform, not on the bench — not even in Cincinnati with the team. Baltimore can't help but wonder how differently things might have gone down the stretch with a healthy Jackson. Coach John Harbaugh said the play was designed for Huntley to go low, but the quarterback had a different idea. Huntley threw a desperation pass on fourth-and-20 that was deflected in the end zone, just out of the reach of Ravens receiver James Proche. The Ravens could try again to reach a lucrative deal with the 2019 MVP, or they could use the franchise tag to keep him for another season.
wftv.comBengals struggled on offense vs. Ravens. That won't cut it against the Bills
The Cincinnati Bengals are headed to Buffalo to play the Bills in the divisional round, thanks to some bizarre late-game management by the Baltimore Ravens during a 24-17 win. Cincinnati averaged a measly 4.3 yards per play on the night and survived on the back of third-down conversions on offense. The Bengals’ offense struggling doesn't mean they're doomed as they get ready for the Bills, though. The Ravens match up well against them and the Bengals still have the talent to catch absolute fire in any game they play. There’s just too much talent on the Bengals’ offensive roster to keep them in check for an entire game.

CINCINNATI — (AP) — Sam Hubbard returned Tyler Huntley's fumble 98 yards for a tiebreaking touchdown in the fourth quarter, helping Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens 24-17 in an AFC wild-card game on Sunday night. Facing third-and-goal at the 1 with about 12 minutes left, Huntley tried to go over the top of the line for the go-ahead score. The ball went right to Hubbard at the 2, and the defensive end took off down the field for the longest fumble return for a touchdown in NFL postseason history. Playing behind a patchwork offensive line, Burrow passed for 209 yards and a touchdown for the AFC North champions. He also had a 1-yard touchdown run a week after the Bengals beat the Ravens 27-16 in the regular-season finale.

Logan Wilson must have known the old "jump and stretch the ball over the goal line" play was coming. Wilson, the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker, reached up when Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley was about to cross the ball over the goal line in the fourth quarter of a tie game. Wilson knocked the ball out, then defensive end Sam Hubbard took the fumble and raced 98 yards for a touchdown. The Bengals will play a divisional round game at the Buffalo Bills next weekend. Baltimore put up a great fight without Lamar Jackson and had a great shot at the upset until Wilson's fantastic play at the goal line.
wftv.comMistakes on offense cost Chiefs 3rd straight Super Bowl trip
Making the about-face all the more shocking was that it was the Chiefs' offense that let them down. His quarterback rating was nearly perfect, as was the Kansas City offense, and coach Andy Reid's team built a 21-10 lead and was 30 minutes away from a third straight trip to the Super Bowl. Then the Chiefs' offensive line, which had run over the Bengals in the first half, began letting them down. The Chiefs were fortunate that Harrison Butker, whose 49-yarder sent the Chiefs to overtime with Buffalo, calmly drilled another one from 44 yards to keep their hopes alive of another trip to the Super Bowl. Burrow and the Bengals didn't give Kansas City another chance.
