Central Florida’s coastline can’t seem to catch a break from what’s been a week of rough conditions at the beaches.

Beachgoers Monday saw some of the roughest conditions from Hurricane Imelda’s impact on the coast of Central Florida.

The National Weather Service was on the ground in Satellite Beach Thursday to verify that an EF-1 tornado touched down in the South Patrick Park neighborhood.

Residents of the area have long raised concerns about what they see as an abnormal number of rare illnesses among their number, and worry that long-forgotten military waste remains a continuing health risk.
