The sequel to the 2015 film "Minions" was originally slated for a July 2020 release.

Seasons 1 and 2 of "The Office" will be available on the free version of Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, the company said Monday. "The Office," for years Netflix's most-watched series, will be exclusively available to Peacock subscribers starting Jan. 4, 2021. In addition to "The Office" episodes, NBCUniversal will release behind-the-scenes footage and interviews and never-before-seen clips and deleted scenes for premium subscribers. NBCUniversal projected in January that 30 million to 35 million Peacock accounts will be active by 2024.

LOS ANGELES – Jon Stewart is returning to TV, more than five years after bowing out as host of “The Daily Show” and with a new home at Apple TV+. Stewart will host an hour-long, current affairs series that will explore topics of national interest as well as his advocacy work, the streaming service said Tuesday. Each season of the show will have a companion podcast to “continue the discussion,” Apple TV+ said. The platform also has a deal with Stewart and his production company that gives it first shot at other projects. Stewart, writer and director of the recent film “Irresistible" with Steve Carell and Rose Byrne, is also an executive producer for CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”Stewart will be an executive producer along with host of his new Apple TV+ show, with the title yet to be announced.
Second City comedy theater for sale, 2nd time in 60 years
CHICAGO – Chicago’s Second City comedy theater — where performers including Bill Murray, Steve Carell and Jordan Peele honed their skills — has been put up for sale. In a statement released Tuesday, co-owner Andrew Alexander said a sale presents the opportunity for Second City to succeed well into the future. Privately held throughout its 61-year history, Second City suspended all its shows and classes in early March until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Second City is co-owned by Alexander and D’Arcy Stuart, although its president, Steve Johnston, also has a small equity share. The theater was sold once before in the years after Bernie Sahlins, Howard Alk and Paul Sills launched the comedy theater in 1959.

The awards for Pop TV's “Schitt's Creek” included best comedy series and trophies for its stars, including Catherine O'Hara and father-son Eugene and Daniel Levy. Moments later, his son won the award for comedy writing for “Schitt's Creek” episode, then shared a directing award and captured the supporting actor comedy trophy. As “Schitt’s Creek” gobbled up comedy awards, that left acclaimed “Insecure” and its creator Issa Rae empty-handed. But Black stories, Black performances and Black Lives Matter,” he said, urging Kimmel to shout with him.

What to watch out for when shopping online from work this Cyber Monday

A recent survey from Robert Half Technology, a human resources consulting company, found that 52% of employees plan to shop online this Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is the most popular day for online shopping at work or "workshopping" according to 43% of those surveyed, followed by Amazon Prime day, with 38%. Another group that's most likely to search for goods at work: working parents. When online shopping at work, you also run the risk of giving those bad actors access to your company server, which can cause all kinds of problems, said Bill Driscoll, senior district president at Robert Half Technology.

Apple releases first look at star-powered drama 'The Morning Show'

Apple on Monday released the first look at the series, which is set to debut this fall. The overlapping voices of Witherspoon, Carell and Aniston are also heard in a cacophony of dramatic moments. "I'm a journalist, I can feel when the world needs me," Carell can be heard saying at one point. "The Morning Show" was one of several shows Apple highlighted earlier this year at an event previewing the content coming to the forthcoming streaming service.

NBC has decided to remove "The Office" from Netflix in 2021 and include the show in the company's new streaming service. The move bolsters the potential appeal of NBC's ad-supported streaming service, which is set to launch in the first quarter of 2020. "We can't wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal's new streaming service." Still, the decision may convince more people to sign up for NBC's streaming service, which will be driven by advertising revenue tied to eyeballs. AT&T's WarnerMedia, which is also launching its own streaming service, is planning eventually to add "Friends" and other shows from Netflix to bolster its streaming service, which it hopes will draw at least 70 million subscribers.
