SAN FRANCISCO — (AP) — Jordan Poole scored the winning layup with a second remaining to cap a crazy, back-and-forth final minute, and the Golden State Warriors fought back to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 122-120 on Wednesday night. Brandon Clarke had a tying dunk with 6.3 seconds left for Memphis on a pass from Ja Morant after Klay Thompson’s 3-pointer with 14.6 remaining put the Warriors ahead. He converted a pair of free throws with 26.6 seconds left to put Memphis ahead before Thompson's big 3. Thompson added 24 points and his 3 with 3:38 left in the third pulled the Warriors to 81-79. Poole finished with 21 points and seven assists as the Warriors beat the Grizzlies again following a 123-109 win on Christmas Day.

The Memphis Grizzlies got some bad news on Tuesday. Starting center Steven Adams has a sprained PCL in his right knee. The Grizzlies announced that the injury is expected to sideline him for 3-5 weeks. Adams missed Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings with what the team designated as knee soreness. Adams sustained the injury on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns.

NEW ORLEANS — (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to trade center Jonas Valanciunas to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for center Steven Adams, guard Eric Bledsoe and an exchange of first-round choices in this week's draft, a person familiar with the situation said. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity on Monday because no trade can become official until Aug. 6. The trade, first reported by ESPN, sends New Orleans' 10th and 40th overall draft choices to Memphis for the Grizzlies' 17th and 51st overall picks this year. Last season, he averaged 17.1 points and 12.5 rebounds to help the Grizzlies reach the playoffs. Valanciunas is due $14 million this season, while Bledsoe is set to earn $18 million and Adams $17 million.

The National Basketball Association on Wednesday night suspended its season indefinitely after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the new coronavirus. The NBA said it learned the unidentified Utah player tested positive shortly before the Oklahoma City Thunder was set to host the Jazz on Wednesday. The NBA said that the Jazz player who tested positive for the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, was not in the arena. The NBA's statement did not reveal whether Gobert or Mudiay tested positive for coronavirus, nor did it identify any other player. "One of the referees assigned to work in the game also worked a Utah Jazz game earlier this week," the league said.
