OIA wheelchair attendants hold one-day strike, citing ‘abysmal’ working conditions

ORLANDO, Fla. — The people who assist elderly and disabled passengers in wheelchairs for two major airlines at Orlando International Airport walked off the job Thursday over what they call “abysmal” working conditions. One worker said they feel “overworked, understaffed and definitely underappreciated.”It’s a one-day strike, so it will not continue into Friday, but it is something to keep in mind if you’re flying Thursday evening.
