The language spoken for centuries by the inhabitants of the small Channel Island of Jersey, Jerriais, is in danger of extinction, with fewer than 800 native speakers left on the island. Jersey is fighting to revive it and the island's primary schools have now incorporated Jerriais language lessons into their curriculum.
