Probe faults mayor, officials for keeping Prude death secret
The report said Singletary told the mayor the officers restrained Prude, but the chief โconsistently deemphasizedโ the role of restraints in Prude's death, and his statements to officials didn't โcapture the disturbing tenor of the entire encounter." AdA lawyer for Singletary said, under a first review of the report, Singletary โwas truthful in his statements" to Warren and other city officials. โHe never participated in any cover-up nor did he intentionally downplay the circumstances" around Prude's death, Michael Tallon said in a statement. LeVert, Pacers await test results before plotting next move
He was eager to meet his new teammates, join the starting lineup and make his Pacers debut. LeVert spent his first 4 1/2 seasons with the Nets after the Pacers selected him in the first round of the 2016 NBA draft. Though teams conduct physicals at the start of each season, LeVert wasn't sure if the Nets ever scanned his lower back. That changed when he joined the Pacers, who came up with a diagnosis LeVert never expected. And until LeVert does return, first-year coach Nate Bjorkgren will be dealing with a short-handed roster.

In an unsent draft of that email, Warren excoriated Singletary for having โgrossly underplayedโ Prude's death by first describing it to her a drug overdose. โQuite frankly, I would have expected the Chief of Police to have shown me this video in March,โ Warren wrote in the draft. No shortage of points scored inside the NBA's bubble
Scoring numbers are soaring inside the NBAs bubble, where the restarted season is happening at Walt Disney World. Games on average have seen nine points more than what had been the norm this season. There was a six-game NBA schedule on Feb. 21, 1988, and all the teams playing that night scored at least 110 points. That hadnt happened, on a day of five or more games, again in the NBA until July 31 the second day of bubble games. And the fact that, you know, the skill sets of NBA players are increasing exponentially by the month.

Analysis: Early returns say so far, so good for NBA bubble
If that wasnt enough, the quality of play is so good that its almost like the NBA hadnt stopped playing for 4-1/2 months. Boxed in? Warren confronts tough politics of health care
Warren says that, far from having boxed herself in politically, she's been working on her health care plan for months and still sees it as a winning issue. "You're going to get health care with no premiums, no deductibles, no fear of bankruptcy if you have a health emergency." Sara Collins, vice president for coverage and access with the nonpartisan Commonwealth Club, said the key involves changing how the health care tab is divided up among employers, government and individuals. Unlike Warren, Sanders has already released payment options, including higher taxes on wealthy Americans and an employee payroll tax of 7.5%. But that would give federal authorities more control over employee health costs than employers, potentially affecting jobs.
