This stretch is the club’s best since it won 14 in a row from July 26 to Aug. 9, 2013. Contreras doubled in the fourth and crossed the plate when Duvall hit his sixth homer, an opposite-field shot to right-center, to put Atlanta up 4-1. The Braves have won seven straight at home against the Pirates, outscoring them 55-13.

The left-hander had 37 saves and was especially effective down the stretch and in the postseason for the World Series champions. Jansen has 350 saves in his 12-year career which had been spent entirely with the Dodgers. The Dodgers and Braves have squared off in the last two NL Championship Series, each winning once on the way to a World Series title.

MLB released a revised schedule Wednesday, extending the last day of the regular season by three days to Oct. 5. Five games were rescheduled for Thursday, July 21, the second day after the All-Star Game. Detroit and Minnesota will play a day-night doubleheader at Comerica Park on May 31. Nine games are scheduled for April 7, a week after the season was to have started on March 31. Fifteen games are scheduled for April 9.
