Truex wins NASCAR's sloppy return to Los Angeles Coliseum

LOS ANGELES — (AP) — Martin Truex Jr. won NASCAR's return to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for its season-opening exhibition race — a sloppy Sunday night extravaganza in which the Wiz Khalifa halftime show might have been the most entertaining part of the event. Truex, who contemplated retirement during last year’s winless season, won for the first time since Sept. 11, 2021. “Last year’s show I felt like was relatively clean and good racing, some bumping, some banging, but we could run long stretches of green flag action,” said Kyle Busch. Maybe this was just normal.”Truex put Joe Gibbs Racing in victory lane to start 2023 after a horrible close to last year. Coy Gibbs' death came just hours after his son, Ty, won NASCAR's second-tier Xfinity Series championship.

Charlie Puth on redirecting his career

The musical prodigy's fame rose with his spectacularly successful 2015 collaboration with rapper Wiz Khalifa, "See You Again." But in early 2020, Charlie Puth put on the brakes. He talks with "CBS Mornings" co-host Tony Dokoupil about falling in love with music; how a chance encounter with Elton John led to a reappraisal of his career; and about the 31-year-old's third album, "Charlie," which he says feels like his first.

Disturbance halts Wiz Khalifa concert in Indiana, 3 injured

— (AP) — Rapper Wiz Khalifa cut short a concert in suburban Indianapolis as people began fleeing the outdoor venue, leaving three with minor injuries, following a disturbance, police said. People started exiting the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville about 10:30 p.m. Friday after a reported disturbance on part of the amphitheater's lawn, with some of them shouting about a possible shooting, The Indianapolis Star reported. The disturbance happened about 45 minutes into Wiz Khalifa's show that was part of the Vinyl Verse co-headlining tour with fellow rapper Logic, according to The Indianapolis Star. The music stopped and Wiz Khalifa and his band left the stage immediately. A message seeking comment from Live Nation, the concert promotion company that owns and operates Ruoff, was left Saturday by The Associated Press.
