Carr confident with Olson calling Raiders' offensive plays
With Jon Gruden tendering his resignation Monday amid reports of emails he sent before being hired in 2018 that contained racist, homophobic and misogynistic comments, longtime special Rich Bisaccia makes his debut as interim head coach of the Raiders, and offensive coordinator Greg Olson will be the new voice in quarterback Derek Carr’s ears, calling the plays in a matchup that pits 3-2 rivals seeking their first win in October.

Jaguars fire Marrone; owner Khan plans to be more involved
Now, after nine NFL seasons and little success on the field, the Jacksonville Jaguars owner is taking a more hands-on approach to fixing the franchise's most glaring problems. Khan is handling the search for his next coach and general manager mostly alone, with some help from Jaguars President Mark Lamping. “This time around, I think I have a much better sense myself,” Khan said Monday after firing coach Doug Marrone. “What's evaded the history of the Jags really has been a franchise quarterback,” Khan said. Khan kept Marrone in place after firing general manager Dave Caldwell in late November, but ultimately decided on a clean sweep.

The Steelers led 28-24 when the Ravens (5-2) faced a fourth-and-3 at the Pittsburgh 8 with 2 minutes left. After Pittsburgh went up 7-0 on Spillane's 33-yard touchdown, the Ravens pulled even on a 6-yard touchdown catch by Miles Boykin. That left Pittsburgh thin up front after DE Chris Wormley went on IR Saturday.
Vikings trade DE Yannick Ngakoue to Ravens for draft picks
MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Vikings traded defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Baltimore Ravens for draft picks on Thursday, less than two months after acquiring the fifth-year pass rusher in a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Vikings were initially hoping he'd be able to return with rest and rehabilitation, and Spielman said acquiring Ngakoue was not related to Hunter's injury. I still think we have a very talented team,” Spielman said. The Ravens (5-1) could use Ngakoue to enhance a pass rush that has been productive of late but could use the help. “We are excited to add Yannick Ngakoue to our football team,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said.
Tank for Trevor? Jaguars say no way despite roster purge
FOURNETTE WAIVEDWhy it looks bad: Jacksonville got nothing in return for Fournette, a 1,000-yard rusher in two of his first three years who scored 19 touchdowns and rarely fumbled. NGAKOUE TO MINNESOTAWhy is looks bad: The Jaguars wanted a first-rounder in return for Ngakoue, who has 37 sacks and 14 forced fumbles in four seasons. Why it makes sense: He started showing his age down the stretch last season, partly because he played close to 80% of the defensive snaps. BOUYE TO DENVERWhy it looks bad: Team whiffed on two potential replacements: Free agent Darqueze Dennard failed a physical and Rashaan Melvin opted out because of COVID-19 concerns. Why is makes sense: Bouye wasnt at his best in 2019, finishing with one interception for the second straight season, and was due nearly $13.5 million.
Gase, Marrone, Quinn among NFL coaches sitting on hot seats
Hes got a lot more control of the offense this year, Gase said of Darnold. DOUG MARRONE, JAGUARSIt's hard to believe Jacksonville was a win at New England away from making the Super Bowl three seasons ago. But like Gase and the Jets, Nagy's future is likely tied to the performance of his quarterback. DAN QUINN, FALCONSThat 28-3 halftime lead over New England in the Super Bowl four seasons ago is a distant memory. A bad start this year, though, might be tough to recover from for Quinn in his sixth season.
Jags 'feel good with compensation' from Vikings for Ngakoue
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Jacksonville Jaguars never got the first-round draft pick they wanted for pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue. Jacksonville dealt Ngakoue to Minnesota on Sunday in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2021 and a conditional fifth-rounder in 2022. And at the end of the day, when youre a coach and youre sitting there, its almost like you feel like youre in the middle, Marrone said. He will give the Vikings a young, proven pass rusher opposite star Danielle Hunter, one whose work ethic and intensity have always been among the most respected in Jacksonvilles locker room. Jacksonville also selected Ngakoues replacement, Josh Allen from Kentucky, with the seventh overall pick in the 2019 draft and added pass rusher KLavon Chaisson this year.
AP source: Jaguars trading Ngakoue to Vikings for 2 picks
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Disgruntled pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue is headed north, far away from Jacksonville. A person familiar with the trade says the Jaguars agreed to send Ngakoue to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday for a second-round draft pick in 2021 and a conditional fifth-rounder in 2022. The person said Ngakoue agreed to rework his 2020 salary to get out of Jacksonville. Ngakoue still has to sign his one-year franchise tender with the Jaguars to make the deal happen. Ngakoue also should ease the loss of four-time Pro Bowler Everson Griffen, who signed a one-year deal with Dallas earlier this month.
Prescott set for franchise tag without long-term Dallas deal
Dak Prescott will play whatever becomes of the 2020 season under the one-year franchise tag after the Dallas Cowboys and their star quarterback couldn't agree on a long-term contract. Clubs had until Wednesday afternoon to reach multiyear deals with players given the franchise tag. Green and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue of Jacksonville haven't signed the one-year contract that goes with the tag. If so, his fate will be different than the other two QBs who have played under the franchise tag. Anthony Harris of Minnesota and Denver's Justin Simmons are set to play under the $11.4 million tag for a safety.
Minshew, Jaguars close out season with 38-20 win over Colts
JACKSONVILLE – This much seems certain for the Jacksonville Jaguars: Minshew Mania will continue into 2020. Gardner Minshew turned in his best performance in two months, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns and leading the Jaguars to a 38-20 victory over Indianapolis on Sunday. The rookie closed out Jacksonville's disappointing season by strengthening his case to be the team's starting quarterback next season. Minshew and the Jaguars (6-10) certainly made Marrone look good in the regular-season finale for both teams. Jacoby Brissett fumbled on consecutive drives, ending any chance Indianapolis had to end the season with consecutive wins.
