Teen strikes, kills woman while street racing in Lake Mary, cops say Madhav Sood, 16, arrested on charge of vehicular homicide
LAKE MARY, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday in Lake Mary on allegations of striking and killing a woman who was on a sidewalk while he was street racing.
Lake Mary police said Madhav Sood was arrested on a charge of vehicular homicide in the the death of Priya Pachauri, who was struck Dec. 8.
Police said Pachauri was walking on the sidewalk along Lake Emma Road when she was struck by Sood’s pickup truck.
The Lake Mary Police Department said Sood was driving recklessly and well above the posted speed limit of 45 mph when he aggressively changed lanes while racing another vehicle and hit Pachauri.
No other details have been released.
