1 killed in Ormond Beach crash

4 others injured in crash on State Road A1A

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A man was killed and four others, including two children, were injured late Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in Ormond Beach, officials said.

Ormond Beach police said Vincent Michael Graziano, 43, died in the crash, which was reported at 9:29 p.m. on State Road A1A at River Beach Drive.

Police said a BMW was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on SR A1A and clipped a Mazda Tribute, which traveled into the southbound lanes and struck a Ford Fusion driven by Graziano.

Graziano died in the crash, police said. His children, an 11-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter, were airlifted to Halifax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The cars were pretty demolished, so it was disturbing to say the least," a man who works at a nearby 7-Eleven said. "All night it's been running through my head. It's been a busy week, (with) Bike Week and all that, and it's just sad that (the weekend) has to end on this kind of a note."

Alcohol tests are pending against the driver of the BMW, police said. He and his passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

SR A1A reopened 12 hours after the crash.

No other information has been released by police.

An investigation is continuing.
