Trooper Steve On Patrol catches up with retired FHP Lt. Kim Montes

Montes served as FHP public information officer

ORLANDO, Fla. – Every chance I get, I love talking about my mentor, retired Lt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Now, she’s been retired over a year, but her name still has such recognition when it comes to public information in the law enforcement world that it’s always mentioned. She was the longest-serving public information officer anywhere in the state.

But today, she is still one of my greatest friends. In fact, there would be no branding of “Trooper Steve” without her, I felt.

Let’s bring her back and do a little check-in on how life is going since retiring from the patrol and being able to create her own schedule.

Today on patrol, Kim joined me and caught up publicly with you. I know too much about what she’s been up to, so you might want to follow along in the video player at the top of this story.
