Vehicle fire blocks Florida’s Turnpike in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A vehicle fire prompted the closure of Florida’s Turnpike on Tuesday in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

All southbound lanes of the Turnpike were blocked at mile marker 286, north of State Road 19.

Later, the FHP said the southbound inside lane was open, but the outside lane was blocked.

“Drivers need to use caution in the area and find an alternate route,” the FHP said.

No other details have been released.
