OCALA, Fla. – A 36-year-old Ocala man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on County Road 42 in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened around 3 p.m. on C.R. 42 at SE 89th Terrace.
The FHP said a pickup truck driven by a 66-year-old Tennessee man was attempting to make a U-turn at the intersection and the motorcyclist, who was westbound on C.R. 42, tried to stop but laid his bike down and collided with the pickup.
The motorcyclist was taken to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and was pronounced dead, troopers said.
The pickup driver was not injured.
No other details have been released.
