POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A 19-year-old Oviedo man was among two killed early Monday in a wrong-way crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Pompano Beach, according to reports.
The double-fatal crash happened around 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike, just south of Atlantic Boulevard, CBS News reported.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of an Acura TL was traveling south in the northbound lanes when he slammed head-on into a Mercedes-Benz A220 driven by the Oviedo man.
The Acura then spun around, hit a concrete barrier and caught on fire, officials said.
