Ocala man killed when driver runs stop sign, T-bones another van: FHP

Florida troopers investigate wreck on Marion Oaks Manor at Marion Oaks Boulevard

OCALA, Fla. – A 28-year-old Ocala man was killed Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened around 6:15 a.m. on Marion Oaks Manor at Marion Oaks Boulevard near Ocala.

The FHP said a van driven by a 40-year-old Reddick man was heading west on Marion Oaks Manor and ran a stop sign at the intersection of Marion Oaks Boulevard.

The van struck the side of a southbound van that had the right of way and was traveling through the intersection, the FHP said.

The southbound van then rotated and struck a car that was traveling east on Marion Oaks Manor but was stopped for a stop sign on the southwest quadrant of the intersection, troopers said.

The rear passenger of the southbound van died in the crash, according to an FHP crash report.

All other vehicle occupants suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment, the FHP said.

Marion Oaks Manor was blocked in the area after the crash.

No other details have been released.
