FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Flagler Beach man arrested Saturday night stands accused of driving under the influence after calling the sheriff’s office to report that he hit a deer, the agency said on social media.

Flagler County deputies arrived to the crash site along S Old Kings Road and located 68-year-old John Flynn “lying next to the deer,” the post states.

“I did that to it,” Flynn can be heard saying on body-worn camera video from the night of his arrest.

The deputies noticed that Flynn’s eyes were watery and bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he was having some difficulty keeping himself balanced, the post states.

Following a series of field sobriety exercises that the sheriff’s office said Flynn failed, he was arrested and booked at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. He has since posted bond, records show.
