Trooper Steve On Patrol checks out construction project near Florida Turnpike, Kirkman Road

Construction projects along I-4 prompt overnight closures

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s the start of a brand new week and while Central Florida is in for some interesting weather patterns, roadwork crews aren’t slowing down. Construction projects continue to move forward and one of the largest efforts is happening right along I-4.

Every evening, I issue a traffic alert to keep you updated on where overnight construction is expected. One of the heaviest projects is centered in the stretch near the Turnpike and Kirkman Road, an area that’s been under significant work for quite some time.

Today, during the daylight hours, I’m taking you along for a drive through this busy section of I-4 to give you a better look at the progress and what’s coming next. This way, you’ll know exactly what to expect once crews move back in during the overnight hours.

From lane shifts to reduced speeds, this is one of those projects you’ll want to keep on your radar if your commute takes you through this corridor. Stick with me as we break down the changes and help you navigate the week ahead on I-4.
