Trooper Steve talks homelessness with Samaritan Resource Center

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – This morning, I had the honor of once again hosting the Transforming Lives Breakfast with the Samaritan Resource Center right here in Orange County.

The center’s mission is simple but powerful: to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of those most at risk in our community. Grounded in true faith, their work goes far beyond providing temporary relief. Instead, they focus on long-term impact, offering not just a handout but a hand up.

I’ve personally witnessed the life-changing difference this organization makes. From guiding individuals through crisis to empowering them toward stability, the Samaritan Resource Center is a true cornerstone of hope here in Central Florida.

Today, I’ll be joined by the center’s executive director, Zeynep Portway, or as many know her, “Ms. Z.” She leads this charge with a heart for service and a spirit that inspires everyone around her. She is truly a special person, and I’m excited to welcome her into the truck to share her story and her vision.

Join me on today’s stream as we highlight the important work being done at the Samaritan Resource Center and learn how you too can be part of transforming lives in our community.
