NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A Kissimmee man was not injured after being a victim of a road rage shooting on Interstate 95 on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the shooting happened around 4:55 p.m. on northbound I-95 near mile marker 380 in Nassau County.
“For reasons still under investigation,“ the driver of a tractor-trailer pulled alongside a box truck and shot toward the box truck, according to the FHP.

Troopers said the box truck then took evasive action by moving into the left lane and left shoulder to avoid the gunfire while the tractor-trailer continued northbound on I-95.
According to the FHP, the driver of the box truck – identified as a 42-year-old Kissimmee man – stopped and called for help. The box truck was struck by a projectile near the passenger door, but no injuries were reported.
Based on witness accounts and victim statements, troopers obtained a description of the suspect vehicle and quickly broadcast the information, identifying the company associated with the suspect’s vehicle.
That company was able to provide a possible location for the tractor-trailer, troopers said. The intel was relayed to the Georgia State Patrol, which intercepted the vehicle on I-95 near mile marker 96.
The suspect – identified as a 27-year-old Hialeah man – was detained and later arrested, troopers said. He faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing, troopers said.
