Bicyclist killed in Marion County crash

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 26-year-old Ocala man riding a bicycle in Marion County was struck by a car and killed early Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on County Road 326, about a mile west of Interstate 75, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the man traveled across the roadway and into the direct path of a westbound Ford Fiesta that then struck him as a result.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

Troopers said the 46-year-old Citrus Springs woman driving the Ford was not injured.
