Drivers who regularly use I-4 near World Drive are about to see a significant change on the roadway in the next few days.

The busy stretch is no stranger to congestion and with ongoing construction aimed at improving the area, crews are preparing to move traffic to allow work to continue. That means a major lane shift is on the way.

While the shift is temporary, officials stress that it’s necessary to keep construction on track and ultimately bring long-term relief to one of Central Florida’s most heavily-traveled corridors.

I’ll be taking you out to the area myself to give you a first-hand look at what’s changing. The goal is to make sure drivers know what to expect before they get behind the wheel, helping the adjustment happen smoothly and without added stress.

If you’re planning to travel through the I-4 and World Drive interchange in the coming days, keep an eye out for updated signs, lane markings, and extra construction activity. With some patience and preparation, we can all get through the shift safely.
