VIDEO: Florida officers use drone to track man who ran into woods after serious crash

Tyler Davis, 28, arrested in Lady Lake

LADY LAKE, Fla. – A man who ran into the woods after a two-vehicle wreck was located by Florida officers who used drone technology to track him, according to officials.

The Lady Lake Police Department responded to a crash Saturday evening on U.S. Highway 27/441, where officers said a Chevrolet Tahoe was speeding and rear-ended a Ford F-150.

Witnesses told police the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe, later identified as 28-year-old Tyler Davis, ran into the woods.

Lady Lake officers used a drone, which detected a heat signature, to locate Davis, who appeared impaired, the department said.

Davis was treated for injuries and taken to a hospital, according to police.

Davis faces several charges, including failing to stop for a crash involving bodily injuries and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
