MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Golf cart drivers and motorcyclists have a new place to park in downtown Mount Dora.
The city has partnered with Main Street Leasing to set aside parking for motorcycles and golf carts at 505 N. Alexander St. The location is near West Fifth Avenue, about a block west of Donnelly Park.
The 22 parking spaces were repaved and restriped to fit the smaller vehicles. The city says this gives a “convenient and efficient parking solution for residents and visitors traveling downtown using alternative modes of transportation.”
The city hopes the new parking area will help improve circulation and accessibility, and alleviate parking demand.
As News 6 reported earlier this year, the city has been looking for new parking options, with the lot for motorcycles and golf carts as one of the options.
The city is also looking at turning three roads downtown into one-way streets to allow for more parallel parking.
