Heavy smoke hampers visibility on State Road 100 in Flagler County, authorities say

Dangerous conditions from CR-55 to county line

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A controlled burn Saturday morning caused zero visibility in some parts of State Road 100 in west Flagler County, according to the sheriff’s office and Florida Highway Patrol.

The smoke was impacting visibility conditions on S.R. 100 W from County Road 55 to the county line, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said on social media. The burn itself was being conducted near Water Oak Road, FHP said.

Troopers reminded drivers to reduce their speed and to use low-beam headlights in the area.
