ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – I feel bad even saying this, but it’s only because I mean it with love.
On today’s Trooper Steve on Patrol, I met a dog I could have absolutely taken home, let run around my house, and then nap on the couch with all afternoon. I present to you: 2-year-old Hamita and this girl is something special.
Hamita came into Orange County Animal Services as a stray, but you’d never know it by the way she carries herself. She’s nothing but muscle and love. When I say she’s strong, I mean strong, but it’s matched perfectly with a sweet, affectionate personality that will steal your heart faster than you can say “treat.”
During our encounter, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. If you want to run around, she’s ready to go. If you want to relax, she’ll settle right in. And if you’re the affectionate type, brace yourself. This girl has kisses to spare and she’s not shy about handing them out.

With Valentine’s weekend here, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Orange County Animal Services is running a $14 adoption special all month long, all in the name of love. Fourteen dollars for a best friend who will give you loyalty, laughter, and probably a little less personal space on the couch.
Hamita isn’t just looking for a house. She’s looking for a home, someone to match her energy, appreciate her heart, and give her the second chance she deserves.
I hope you enjoy the stream. But more than that, I hope someone out there sees what I saw today and gives this incredible girl the forever family she’s been waiting for.
