MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 34-year-old Florida woman was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal wreck happened around 6:50 p.m. on NE 160th Avenue Road at NE 220th Avenue.
The FHP said a 29-year-old Citra man was driving a pickup truck south on NE 160th Avenue Road and crossed over the double-yellow center lane, colliding head-on with a northbound pickup even though both drivers swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash.

The 34-year-old Holiday woman, a front-seat passenger in the northbound pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.
Her driver, a 36-year-old Fort McCoy man, was hospitalized with serious injuries, troopers said.
Another passenger in the northbound pickup suffered minor injuries.
The Citra man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the FHP crash report stated.
No other details have been released.
