LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A man walking along a Lake County road was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened at Rolling Acres Road and Abeble Road around 12:40 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Ford Edge was traveling south on Rolling Acres Road, approaching Abeble Road.
At the same time, a pedestrian was walking on south Rolling Acres Road.
Troopers said the SUV’s driver failed to avoid the pedestrian, and the front right of the vehicle struck the man. The impact caused the man to collide with a fire fence.
The pedestrian, identified as a 25-year-old Lady Lake man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, identified as an 18-year-old Lady Lake woman, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
