Meet Amy Russo, WKMG’s newest community correspondent

Amy Russo joins Trooper Steve on Patrol

ORLANDO, Fla. – One of my favorite parts of what we do with “Trooper Steve on Patrol” is introducing you to the people who help tell the stories that matter most in our community.

On Thursday’s stream, we got to do just that. I introduced you to our newest community correspondent, Amy Russo, and right away, you can tell she’s someone who’s going to make an impact.

Amy was born in Alabama but raised right here in Florida, so she understands the heartbeat of our communities. What I found really interesting is that her path didn’t start in journalism. She originally had her sights set on the medical field, but along the way, she discovered a talent and a passion for public speaking.

That passion led her straight into storytelling.

Now, she’s part of our team here at News 6, and she’s ready to help bring your stories to life.

During our time together on the stream, you got a chance to see her personality, hear her story, and get a feel for the energy she’s bringing to the team. And trust me, there’s more to her than just reporting.

We also learned she’s a pretty serious cook… so that might be something we have to explore a little more down the road.

Take a few minutes and check out the full Trooper Steve on Patrol stream to meet Amy Russo for yourself. I think you’ll see exactly why we’re excited to have her here.

And as always, thanks for riding along with me.
