ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – For our latest Trooper Steve on Patrol: paw patrol edition, we got to be part of something truly special, something we’ve been talking about for quite some time.
Orange County officially broke ground on its brand-new, state-of-the-art animal services facility, a $49 million investment that’s set to transform how animals and the people who care for them are supported in our community.
We were there as county leaders, including Orange County Major Jerry Demings, joined staff and supporters to celebrate the future of animal care in Central Florida. And let me tell you, this isn’t just another building.
This is a commitment.
At the heart of it, this facility represents two very important groups.
First, the dedicated men and women who show up every single day, doing the hard work behind the scenes to rescue, treat, and care for animals in need. And second, the animals themselves. The ones waiting patiently for a second chance, a fresh start, and a place to finally call home.
This new space will give both of them what they deserve: better resources, improved conditions, and more opportunities to make successful adoptions happen.
For me personally, this one hits home.
You know how much I care about animal rescue and the work we’ve done together as a community, highlighting these pets, telling their stories, and helping them find homes forever. Seeing this kind of investment and commitment from Orange County is not just exciting, it’s meaningful.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about a building.
It’s about giving these animals a real shot at a better life.
