OCKLAWAHA, Fla. – A woman was killed Sunday night in a head-on crash in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Loretta Fillow, of Ocklawaha, died in the crash, which was reported at 9 p.m. on Southeast 183rd Avenue.

The FHP said Michael Haslup, 42, of Citra, was driving a 2000 Buick Park Avenue north in the southbound lanes when he struck Fillow's 1997 Toyota Rav4 head-on.

Fillow was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where she died, the FHP said.

Haslup suffered serious injuries and was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

It's not known why Haslup was in the wrong lane or if alcohol played a role in the fatal crash, the FHP said. Charges are pending against Haslup, according to an FHP report.
