Edgewater officer hurt in crash while backing up sheriff’s deputy

An Edgewater police officer was hospitalized after a crash Friday night that happened as they were responding to back up a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputy, according to the Edgewater Police Department and Florida Highway Patrol.
