Man facing child porn charges, accused of trying to contact girls online
Aaron Crump, 32, was arrested at his home on Friday after investigators said they discovered graphic videos on his phone. Arrested on 20 child porn charges: Aaron Crump, 32, Edgewater, who has a history of contacting young girls online. The NCMEC told investigators that someone had uploaded 350 files of suspected child pornography to an online storage account. Detectives also researched two prior cases involving Crump, according to the sheriff’s office. Crump faces 20 initial counts of possession of a sexual performance of a child.

Florida man arrested after shining laser at Volusia County Sheriff’s helicopter
EDGEWATER, Fla. – An Edgewater man accused of pointing a laser at the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Air One helicopter is now facing a felony charge. The pilot told investigators this blinded him for around three to five minutes, describing the incident like having a flashbulb going off in front of his eye, according to a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office report. In the arrest video, Hutton told them he had a green laser pointer and is heard telling authorities he thought the helicopter was a drone. EDGEWATER, Fla. – People who live in Edgewater are starting to see the standing water recede in the neighborhoods, but the issue is the rising water levels of the Indian River. That’s why the city has had to shut down some boat ramps and parks because of the flooding. Over the weekend, the City of Edgewater recorded nearly a foot of rain in some areas, flooding streets and driveways. Edgewater City Manager Glenn Irby said the storms brought too much water all at once. I’ve never seen rain like that before, it was a lot of water,” Irby said.

29-year-old man died in car crash in Volusia County
A 29-year-old man from Edgewater died Sunday after crashing his car on I-95 in Volusia County, according to Florida Highway Patrol. According to reports, the driver who died was driving southbound on I-95 when he bumped into a car in front of him, causing minimal damage to the other car. After hitting the car in front of him, troopers said the driver swerved a bit, and ultimately traveled into the median and hit many trees. The car overturned and landed upside down in a water filled ditch, according to authorities. Authorities said the driver later died at the hospital.
