Saturday brings heat during the day, slightly cooler temperatures at night

Daytime 'feels like' temperatures to likely reach triple digits

ORLANDO, Fla. – The average temperature for this time of year is 88 degrees inland and 85 at the beaches.  Most areas are running five degrees higher than that, preventing us from believing it is Fall.

Some scattered storms today but not enough to cool things down  Overnight temperatures will drop into the 70s everywhere.

Sunday looks a lot like Saturday with highs in the mid 90s in the interior and in the high 80s at the beach.

Temperatures for the up coming week remain above normal with a trend toward less rain.

In the tropics, sub tropical storm Leslie is forecast to stay out in the Atlantic with no treat to land through Thursday.

For those interested in boating, seas will average three to five feet. 

News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos said isolated showers that develop will move from east to west during the day. They will clear out by Saturday evening, leaving lows in the low to mid-70s.

Sunday is predicted to look much like Saturday, with highs in the mid-90s in interior areas and the high 80s at the beach. Temperatures for the week are expected to remain above normal with a trend toward less rain.

In the tropics, the remnants of Kirk will continue to move west. Cokinos said the system is sitting south of Puerto Rico, but will still mean rain for the island.

Subtropical storm Leslie is predicted to continue to linger over the open Atlantic Ocean. The storm could strengthen to hurricane status by the end of the week.

"It's still far from the eastern seaboard, but is something we will continue to monitor," Cokinos said.
