Changes on the way to Central Florida. Here’s when temps hit the 80s

80s return to area mid-week

ORLANDO, Fla. – Large surface high pressure drifts over the Atlantic on Tuesday, keeping a steady southeast breeze in place.

Similar to yesterday, a few scattered sprinkles will be possible along the coast (10-20%) under mostly cloudy skies. Even with the extensive cloud cover, highs will reach the mid-70s through the afternoon with lows in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY ALMANAC:

Average High: 72

Average Low: 49

The weeklong warmup kicks into high gear starting Wednesday, as highs will begin to move over the 80-degree mark areawide for the next few days.

Expect more sunshine on Wednesday as cloud cover will being to erode, allowing highs to reach the low 80s.

The heat is cranked up even further by the end of the week as a weak front stall across northeast Florida, keeping the region under a warmer and more humid airmass.

Record highs could make an appearance late in the week and into the weekend, with temperatures rising to the mid 80s across inland neighborhoods (record levels range from 83-86°) to low 80s along the coast.

Central Florida will finally break from the warmer weather by Sunday as a weak cold front finally makes it through the area. Expect cooler weather to start the work week with highs back into the 60s.
