ORLANDO, Fla. – After a mild morning with wake-up temperatures in the 60s and 70s, expect highs in Central Florida to return to the 80s by the afternoon, under partly cloudy skies.

Through the day, a steady southeast wind could deliver a few scattered showers along the coastline, with coverage at 10%.

Overnight into early Thursday, several warm low records may be in jeopardy of being broken as many locations will remain in the upper 60s.

Thursday will be the first day in a string of near record-breaking afternoon as highs max out in the mid-80s through Saturday.

The warmer weather will make beach and boating activities more enticing, but beware as a high risk of rip currents will be in place over the next several days.

A relatively dry cold front is forecast to push into Central Florida by Sunday, ushering in much cooler changes by Sunday evening and into early next week.

Expect lows to dip into the 40s and 50s, with highs staying below average in the 60s.
