ORLANDO, Fla. – The spring front that brought strong storms to Central Florida on Wednesday is now ushering in much cooler and drier weather.

Highs on Thursday in Orlando will remain well below average -- in the mid- to low 70s through the afternoon -- with the breeze sticking around. Expect northwesterly winds to pick up to 15-20 mph and gusts up to 25-30 mph.

Overnight lows into Friday morning are forecast to dip into the 40s and 50s.

As we head into the weekend, we will be tracking a couple of reinforcing shots of cooler air as a weak fronts move through the area with little fanfare.

Expect the 70s to stretch through Sunday, with dewpoints remaining very comfortable -- in the 40s each afternoon.

The combination of dry and breezy weather for the next few days will increase fire chances, however.

Early next week, although Central Florida will not experience a total solar eclipse, the weather looks like it will cooperate for our partial eclipse, with skies staying mostly sunny.

Highs by the middle part of next week expect to climb back to near 90 degrees!

Enjoy it while it lasts!
