ORLANDO, Fla. – We are kicking off the weekend with plenty of sunshine for your Friday, cranking up temperatures to the mid-80s by the afternoon.
Winds will pick up out of the southwest at 10–15 mph, with some gusts up to 25 mph.
While the breeze will feel nice, if you’re hanging around the coast, there will be a high risk of rip currents.
🔥 Fire Weather Risk: With the combination of warm, dry and breezy weather, we’re looking at near-critical fire weather conditions across much of Central Florida.
The highest risk will be along the I-4 corridor, including the greater Orlando area, where a Fire Weather Warning is in effect for Friday afternoon and early evening.
Later Friday, a weakening cold front will slide in from the north, dragging a few showers and maybe some lightning storms across northern parts of the state.
Most of us in Central Florida will stay dry, but areas north of Daytona Beach to Leesburg could see a few isolated storms this evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed northern Volusia and Lake counties under a marginal severe risk — a 5% chance for brief gusty winds or small hail.
Weekend
High pressure settles in over the weekend, giving us some nice and pleasant weather.
In the mornings it will be feeling noticeably cooler, especially Sunday and Monday, with lows dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s across the region.
The afternoons will also feel great, with highs staying below normal in the mid- to upper 70s.
Next Week
Looking ahead into next week, we will be watching a few weak cold front that won’t bring much rain or cooler air.
By the early part of the week, highs are expected to rebound close to near 90 degrees.
