TIMELINE: Strong storms possible in Central Florida. Here’s when

Highest chance for storms will be west of Orlando

Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Storm chances won’t be all that high Wednesday, but the ones that do develop could pack a punch.

Storm chances are only 40%, meaning most of Central Florida will be on the dry side Wednesday.

With the presence of an upper-level disturbance over the peninsula, any storm that does get going will have the chance to produce hail and damaging wind.

Heavy rain and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning will accompany any storm.

During the morning commute, a stray storm could sneak on shore from the Atlantic ocean, but most of Central Florida will be dry.

The highest chance for storms will be late in the afternoon and west of Orlando.

Future radar

Storms push closer to the Gulf coast by around 8 p.m.

Storm chances increase to 70% Thursday.

A few of the storms will also be strong.
