With so much moisture in the air, rain could start earlier and linger overnight. This will bring gusty winds, frequent lightning, and quick downpours of 1 to 3 inches.
From Thursday through Saturday, rain chances remain high as tropical moisture continues to flow into the region.
The National Hurricane Center now puts the chance of a low-pressure system developing near Florida at 40%. This system could take on tropical or subtropical characteristics.

Even if it doesn’t, heavy rain will be the main concern. Most areas could see 1 to 4 inches of rain over the next few days, with higher totals in some spots.
Forecast confidence dips over the weekend as models disagree on the system’s path. Will it be in the Gulf or the Atlantic? But no matter where it goes, the weather will still be soggy through the weekend and possibly into early next week.
Make sure your holiday plans remain flexible as rain will play a role most of the weekend.
